We all know that TATA power is owned by the TATA group which is one of the largest companies in the world. Day-by-day TATA power is installing more EV charging stations, till now they have installed around 6000+ EV charging stations. Their target is to install one lakh charging stations in India. TATA power’s main goal is to promote EVs, reduce the dependency on crude oil, and reduce pollution. It holds 50% market share in public charging and 40% in fleet charging. TATA Power is also providing charging stations set up for homes and commercial places.

Eligibility criteria & documents

You have to be an Indian national and your age must be between 21 to 60 years.
Education qualification: 10th pass
Personal documents: Aadhar card, PAN card, photo, bank A/c details, and address proof.
If you have purchased land from someone then you need to have ownership documents, and if you have taken land for lease then you must have lease papers.
And finally, you must know NOC from local authorities.

Land requirements

TATA power didn’t mention a particular size of land. But if your land size is small you can start with one charging station and if you want to install more points then more size of the land is required.
EV charging entry and exit points must be free from obstacles.
You can start with one charging point.
Space for office setup is required to manage the charging station.

Staff members

You need a minimum of two staff members, one skilled staff to help customers while charging and one unskilled staff for payment collection and managing other things like helping people for entry and exit.

Investment

It depends on your location and the number of charging points you want to install.
You have to pay the security deposit for TATA power, it will be around 2.5 – 3 lakhs.
If you are installing more charging points then you have to set up one distribution transformer.
Expenses of office set up and staff salary.
Maintenance cost

The total cost of installing 3 charging points set up will be around 26 – 30 lakhs. Now the government is providing up to 50% subsidies on fast-charging stations. So, the price for installing an EV charging station will be around 13 – 15 lakhs.

Profit In EV charging station

The profit from an EV charging station depends on the number of charging points you have and electricity charges. The profit per unit is around 3 Indian rupees. If we consider TATA Nexon, its battery power rating is 30 KWH and it will take 45 minutes for a full charge. So, we can consider that you can earn 90 rupees per full charge in 45 minutes.

Your daily earning with 3 charging points will be 3000 rupees and the monthly earning will be around 90,000 rupees. Apart from this, you can provide some other services like car cleaning and maintenance services.
