Technical Round Questions Asked For EC Student In Mercedes Benz hiring process

  • Tell me about yourself.
  • Asked me what are my favourite subjects. I answered Automotive Electronics, C programming, AUTOSAR and Digital Electronics.  ( Try to tell the subjects that are related to the domain they are working on)
  • Asked me to tell all the concepts that I know in AUTOSAR.
  • Difference between sensors and actuators.
  • Difference between CAN and LIN.
  • How CAN has helped the technology of cars improve.
  • Explanation of the projects.
  • Asked me to explain about the first project that I had done (ie., mocktail making machine). Asked me to draw the circuit and explain it and brief description of the controller that I used.
  • Asked if you had to extend the project what all improvements would have been done to the existing mocktail machine prototyped.
  • Explain the code with respect to the above mentioned project.
  • Asked about the other project that I had done in third year. It is “VEGETATION MEASUREMENT USING IMAGE PROCESSING”. It was out of the domain specified to us. So he asked me to explain the basic concept of image processing and the method used for the vegetation measurement.
  • Asked me whether I was comfortable in C programming and gave me two codes to write. 01. Given a decimal number as input find the binary equivalent of the given input. The binary equivalent must be further stored in an array. The final output must be the digit (either 1 or 0) based on the position taken as input by the user. 02. Given an array of number. Asked to find the largest number in an array and then the second largest number.
  • Asked me to design the circuit to add any two numbers using the concepts of digital electronics.
  • Design the circuit for up-counter.

Managerial Round Questions For EC Student

  • Tell me about your family.
  • Asked me about the project that I am working on presently and the solution that is selected.
  • Explain the architecture of the micro-controller.
  • Write a microcontroller code to find the factorial of a number and explain it.
  • What do I do in my free time?
  • Do you have any questions for me?

HR Round Questions For EC Student

  • Asked me about the entire day process. How was the technical and managerial interview?
  • Tell me about yourself.
  • Gave me a scenario that the HR is my manager and I have been assigned to do a ppt presentation the next morning along with a person. But that person doesn’t show any interest in doing so. So what will you do?
  • Suppose I ask your friends what will they define about you?
  • Asked me to give the feedback of the entire process held.

  • Tell me about yourself..?
  • Some questions related to the project.
  • The need for communication protocols in automotive.
  • Explain CAN protocol..?
  • Why it is called two wired protocol why can’t it be a single wired..?
  • Difference between CAN and LIN..?
  • Some real-time examples with respect to LIN and CAN and why they best suit there..?
  • Why do we need ABS..?
  • As an electrical and electronics engineer why do you want to work in the Automotive industry..?
  • Differentiate the conventional SI/CI vehicles and Hybrid/Electrical Vehicle..?
  • What is regenerative braking…?
  • Advantages of Hybrid/Electrical vehicles over Conventional Vehicles.
  • What is an Autosar and its uses..?
  • Explain Fuel injector with respect to ECU..?
  • Explain the six-step inverter..?
  • What is bus arbitration..?

  • Write a C program to find the second largest element in the array..?
  • Write a C program to convert a decimal to hexadecimal..?
  • Your role and contribution to the projects.
  • What is the difference between sensor and microcontroller I replied sensor is a device that senses the surrounding signals and passes them to a microcontroller and a microcontroller is a device that processes and does some computations on signals to obtain the desired results.
  • So he again asked me a question saying that we can introduce this intelligence of microcontroller in sensors only why do we need microcontroller I replied with an example: Consider a system involving 10 sensors which senses the analog signal to process it we need to convert to digital using ADC and suppose we provide all sensors with this feature it would be bit expensive instead will have plenty of sensors and use one single on-chip computer (Micro-controller with DAC, ADC) which does some computations and schedules the task, memory management, etc.
  • Are you familiar with Matlab, Simulink.?
  • Do you have any offers from other companies..?
  • As I was placed in KPIT which is also an automotive service company he asked me why do you want to join Benz..? Any questions or queries you have, preferably ask some good questions.
