The electrical vehicle is the trending technology these days as it consumes electrical energy and will not generate any polluting gases as it will not involve in any combustions. The entire world is nowadays focusing on the green energy generation so the usage of renewable energy sources has been increasing rapidly.

Electrical vehicles use electricity as their main fuel so they use batteries for running the vehicle as the vehicle starts moving the battery starts discharging so when the battery is discharged it requires charging, so the charging stations must be constructed for the purpose of the electric vehicle charging. The charging stations must consist of power that will be used for EV charging and that power can be obtained from the power generation.

These days the power generation is mostly done by using the renewable energy sources, so basically, the renewable energy sources are solar, wind, geothermal, hydro, tidal, etc., the energy generated can be used for many purposes so in this project we are going to use the solar energy for the generation of electricity and electrical vehicle charging. Solar Energy power plants use the heat and light from the sun to generate electricity.

The photovoltaic cells are used for receiving the light and convert into power using photovoltaic technology means the solar panels obtain photons from the sunlight and they will be transformed into electrons then they will be passed through the semiconductor material and electricity will be generated.

Solar thermal energy generation is another form of technology where the sun heat is used for electricity generation. The heat will be captured by mirrors placed and the water will be heated using that heat and then the water will flow through the turbine and the power will be generated. These are the main technologies for the generation of electricity using solar energy.

Nowadays solar energy is the topmost renewable energy source used for power generation compared to other renewable energy sources. Solar has the main advantage that it can also be generated by the household. As solar energy is available only in the morning hours but it can generate energy more during the daytime which will be sufficient for many purposes. The applications using solar energy are widely increasing these days as it is generating bulk energy without causing any pollution to the environment.

Components Of Solar Based Electrical Vehicle Charging Station

The solar-based electrical vehicle charging station is mainly dependent on the two components as Photovoltaic plate and the energy storage system. Compared to the other renewable energy charging stations or points this solar charging station requires fewer components and less capital investment. The photovoltaic plant plays a major role as it will convert the photon energy into electrical energy using the semiconductor operation.

As we all know that the solar plate consists of a group of PV cells which are the p-n junction devices that will be used to convert the photon energy into electrical energy. Coming to the energy storage systems is where the energy generated will be stored. The batteries used in the energy storage system are the specially designed ones with the energy strategy management included. The capacity of the batteries used for energy storage is very high as it is used to store the energy throughout the day.

This is the basic construction of the charging station these days but there is also another way that we can use the heat to generate electricity with the help of solar collectors.

The solar collectors will collect the heat from the reflection of the sun’s rays over it and the heat will be passed through the pipes where the pipes are used for the water flow and the water flowing through the pipes will be get heated because of the solar plate collectors heat and they will be passed through the turbine and then the turbine will convert the kinetic into the mechanical and that input of mechanical is given to the generator and it will convert the mechanical input as the electrical output.

So compared to the first method this is the time taking process and involves more components and takes more time for the electrical generation, so this is minimized for the usage as a charging station source.

The fast charging ports are the outlets from the batteries with the control systems implemented in them. The charging ports are of high charging capacity and pure dc outlets. These days the electrical vehicles are maximum manufactured with the inbuilt fast-charging sockets which are 45kw and charge electrical vehicles in no time.

Working Of Solar Charging Station

The solar plates are gathered together and connected in series as they generate continuous energy. The photovoltaic cells in the solar plates will convert the photon energy into electrical energy. The electrical energy generated will be stored in the energy storage system which totally consists of batteries that are connected in series.

The lithium-ion batteries are used in the energy storage system as they possess a high capacity and less discharging time compared to the other batteries. The battery will transmit the dc power through the ports to charge the electrical vehicle.

Finally, the outlets of the charging station are the ports. The ports in the previous year are of less power type and the power supplied to the battery for its charging purpose is also very less. The combined Charging ports are fitted into any type of electrical vehicle and they have the technique of fast charging the battery of the electrical vehicle.

The electrical vehicle these days withhold the combined charging sockets which are the fast-charging sockets and they charge the battery in less than 45 minutes, so for these types of sockets, the charging stations are introduced with the fast charging outlet ports which can charge the electrical vehicle using the solar energy generated electrical power source.

The solar-based charging points are the trending spots in many countries for the electrical vehicles to charge and they have their own impact on the future projects based on electrical vehicles.
