Ahmedabad, Gujarat, is implementing an innovative approach to tackle wrong-side driving on its roads. They’re introducing “tyre killers,” metal devices that will puncture the tyres of vehicles going in the wrong direction. The aim is to reduce accidents and traffic congestion caused by this unstable behavior. Tyre killers work like regular speed bumps for vehicles on the correct side but impose damage to the tyres of those going the wrong way. This strongly prevents wrong-side driving, a major issue, especially near underpasses. The idea was suggested by the high court, and Ahmedabad’s roads will be the first in Gujarat to adopt this technology. The initial set of tyre killers has already been installed in the Chankyapuri area. What do you think about think? let us know in the comment section.
