The total cost is divided into three parts

  1. Fixed cost: due to annual expenditure on capital cost, salaries, interest, and depreciation.
  2. Semi fixed cost: charges per kW of Maximum Demand
  3. Running or operating cost: Fuel, oil, lubrication O&M
