What is a leakage reactance of transformer?

The leaked flux from the main core is called the leakage flux. The magnetic leakage takes place in every transformer which cause leakage reactance.

All the flux produced in the primary does not link to primary and secondary winding. The part of the flux leaks is called the leakage flux.
