The need for cell balancing is:

  • Exposure to overcharge – When we connect two unbalance cells to charge at a time then overcharge condition occurs.
  • Cell degradation – Due to the overcharge condition, the cell life span decreases.
  • Incomplete charging of battery pack – Due to unbalance cells, we can’t charge all cells.
