In transmission lines say conductors have some resistance, inductance and capacitance nature. because of this there is some loss in power transmission.
Due to Resistance, the transmission power is dispatched in the form of heat. because of this, there is heavy loss in power which is about to deliver.
The effect of inductance is increases the voltage drop between the sending and receiving ends of the line and reduce the power transfer capability.
The effect of shunt capacitance will increases the charging current. During periods of light loading, the receiving end voltage may become too high based typical utility voltage regulation limits.
