01. The purpose of the substation is to step down incoming voltage.
02. Power Distribution: Electrical substations are also used to distribute electrical power to different parts.
03. Circuit Protection: from overloads and other types of electrical faults.
04. Power Factor Correction: to improve the efficiency of the electrical power.
05. Switching: to switch power flows from one circuit to another.
06. Metering: to find out the amount of electrical power being transmitted and consumed in different parts.
