Today’s cars have hundreds of features, but also thousands of wires connecting ECUs all over the car. That creates a big mess, more weight, higher cost, and harder to manage. With zonal architecture, the car is divided into areas or ‘zones’. Each zone has one smart controller. This means less wiring, faster communication, and lower cost. Zonal design uses high-speed Ethernet, making the car ready for software updates and ADAS features. It’s also easier to upgrade, fix, and add new features in the future. Zonal architecture is cleaner, faster, and future-ready. That’s why the shift is happening now.
