What Is IEEE
Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers
The world’s largest technical professional organization is termed IEEE. It consists of more than 423,000 members in over 160 countries. It connects open-source students with the biggest prestigious global community through publications, conferences, Technology standards, Professional and educational activities.
Students can get rolled in this too. The members of IEEE inspire a global community to innovate for a better tomorrow by innovating something new. IEEE is the trusted voice for computing, engineering, and technology information around the globe.
Working for IEEE is a good experience for professionals from a variety of disciplines. It also offers opportunities for competitive employer benefits for full-time, part-time, and temporary employees.
The headquarters of IEEE is Piscataway, New Jersey, United States. IEEE was founded on 1st January 1963 by the American Institute of Electrical Engineers, Institute of Radio Engineers.
Technical societies of IEEE:-
- IEEE Computer society.
- IEEE Education society.
- IEEE Electron devices society.
- IEEE Aerospace and Electronic system society.
- IEEE Control system society.
- IEEE Industry applications society.
- IEEE Information theory society.
- IEEE Communication society.
IEEE also develops communities around particular technology challenges. Some of the IEEE societies also allow a person to implement the things who are not an IEEE member.
How to become an IEEE member:-
01. Open any browser and type IEEE.org and press enter. After that, a screen is opened. On the screen, we have two options. Either you can click on create an account or sign in or otherwise simply click on join IEEE.
02. After clicking, we can see some information then we need to scroll down. We can see two options join as a professional and join as a student. If you are currently a student of any college or university then click on join as a student or otherwise you can join as a professional.
03. As I am a student I have clicked on join as a student.
04. A dialog box is opened and you need to click on create an account. Then you need to fill in your initial credentials like name, email address, password, and a security question.
05. You can use your college email or your personal id After filling in your initial credentials, just check the box and click on create an account and continue joining. Then it will prepare our membership application.
06. Now, we can see a form that we need to fill in order to take our IEEE membership. Make sure that I am a student studying at least part-time. Now, fill the form throughout like university or college name, student status, degree being pursued, academic program, Expected graduation date, current field, current technology focus, and then save.
07. Then fill in the contact credentials like name, country, organization, address, address, city, state, pin code, birth date, gender, number, and then click on save.
08. Scroll down the application and in additional information click YES in do you want to be included in the member directories. Check the box with information such as enhance my career opportunities and expand my professional network. Enter IEEE referring member name and referring IEEE member number.
09. After filling the form carefully you just need to click on “proceed to checkout”. Then you can pay through the following options like a credit card, PayPal, etc. If you wish to join IEEE society, you can again click on membership and then join any society.
10. Select any society that you want to join and then you can proceed to add it to the card followed by checkout. Please note that some IEEE societies can only be joined when you purchase or renew IEEE membership while others can join anytime.
Procedure to write a research paper:-
01. The initial stage for publishing an IEEE paper is to do the research. And draft it properly in IEEE a paper format.
02. First, to download the template of IEEE, we have to go to Google and simply type in IEEE paper format word.
03. Click on the first one i.e. Paper title – IEEE. You can download it and the link would be in the description section below.
04. Wait until the download gets complete and we can see the word file. The basic template is opened which tells what to do, how to do it, what should be the font size.
05. The abstract should not be more than 1000 words and keywords should have an introduction with a heading. If you are inserting figures. This is a basic format. The format will be shown in the description of the website.
06. Next search for an IEEE conference on a particular website at which you want to publish your work. To search through the list of conferences go through the link www.ieee.org/conference s _events/index.html.
07. http://www.ieee.org/conferences_events/index.html. This IEEE link will be showing all the conferences which are organized or sponsored by IEEE. You should search for the conference which is including the topics related to the work you have done.
08. Go through the website because sometimes it may happen that the final date of submission in this IEEE link is shown expired but it may have been revised by conference people later which will be shown on their website, not on this IEEE link.
09. After selecting the conference, you can submit your paper according to the instructions given on the conference website.
10. Wait and the reviewing period of the paper may last from several days to several months depending on the conference. You will get the notification on the specified date of acceptance along with the reviewing comments.
11. Then you would have to register for the conference and pay the fees.
12. After you are registered, you can attend the conference and after the conference is over, your submitted paper will be sent to IEEE.
13. After around 1 to 1.5 months the paper will appear on IEEE Xplorer as conference proceedings.
