World’s First Flying Bike Creates Its Debut

A flying bike created by Japanese startup AERWINS Technologies created its debut in the USA or United States on Thursday at the Detroit Auto Show. Touted as the world’s first flying bike, the hoverbike attracted sharp comparisons to the bikes of the famous Star Wars.

The manufactories have agendas to tackle the model the following year. The flying bike has been named XTURISMO hoverbike.

The XTURISMO hoverbike can pass for 40 minutes with a rate limitation of up to 100 kph (62 miles per hour). In Japan, the flying bike is already on the deal. According to the creator and CEO of AERWINS, Shuhei Komatsu, the startup is planning to sell a smaller version in the United States in 2023.

This hoverbike comes with a large price of $777,000 (over 6 crore INR). Nevertheless, AERWINS creator said that the company is attempting to cut down the cost to $50,000 for a smaller, electric model but it will assume 2-3 years and will be prepared by 2025.

Co-chair of the Detroit Auto Show, Thad Szott, who brought the bike for a trial flight, said that the adventure of riding a hoverbike was “satisfied” and “exciting” and felt like it was something directly out of a sci-fi movie.

“I sense like I’m directly 15 years old and I just reached out of ‘Star Wars and hopped on their bike,” stated Thad Szott.
