Types Of Electric Cars
Nowadays, electric cars are becoming so famous day by day. The tesla company is one that produces more electric cars. Electric cars are eco-friendly, noiseless cars so many people like an electric car to use. Now let’s have some look at types of electric cars.
01. Series Hybrid Electric Car
In this hybrid electric car, the electric motor drives the wheels and fossil fuel is also used which generates electricity to charge the batteries. Some of the series hybrid electric cars are Chevrolet Volt, BMW i3, etc.
The advantage of this Series Hybrid Cars is that the fossil fuel engine is used which runs more efficiently. The disadvantage of this Series Hybrid Cars is that the car still uses fossil fuel, the car is not completely electric.
02. Parallel Hybrid Electric Car
In this hybrid electric car, the fossil fuel and the electric motor drive the wheels. The fossil fuel is also used to drive a generator to charge the batteries. The best example of a parallel hybrid electric car is Prius.
The advantage of this electric car is that both motor and fossil fuel drive wheels which increases the speed efficiency of the electric car. The disadvantage of this hybrid electric car is that the car is not completely electric it is using fossil fuel.
03. Plug-in Hybrid Car
The plug-in hybrid electric car has enough batteries that don’t require any fossil fuel to drive the wheel of the electric car. The advantage of this car is a fossil fuel is required if you are going for a long trip, if the trip is short then batteries can drive the car. The main drawback of this car is that you need to keep the car charging to get full efficiency.
04. Fuel Cell Electric Car
The fuel cell electric car in which the electric motor is driven by the fuel cell that consumes fossil fuel and hydrogen. The companies which make this kind of electric cars are Honda and Toyota. This electric car has many drawbacks such as low range, hydrogen storage is complicated and very little infrastructure.
05. Full Electric Car
These types of electric cars are the best to use. In this car battery provides supply to the electric motors to drive the car, the companies which make this type of electric car are Tesla and Nissan Leaf. The advantage of this car is eco-friendly, clean, has good speed efficiency, low maintenance, etc. The main drawback is charging time is more.
So, guys, these are some different types of electric cars. I hope this article may help you all a lot. Thank You For Reading.
