Here are the methods to select a proper domain for your website:
 

  1. Make your domain name memorable. Domain names that are short, easy to remember, easy to type, and easy to say or are longer than about 15 characters.
  2. Use keyword-rich domain.
  3. Avoid hyphens if possible like http://www.my-site.com, and http://www.seo-tutorial.com
  4. Avoid non .com top-level domains. Use .com, .in, .us, .net, .org, .edu and try to ignore .biz, .info
  5. Buy a domain from Godaddy and namecheap.
