The advantage of interconnected grid system:

  1. Exchange of maximum loads
  2. Use of more traditional Plants
  3. Guarantees economical operation
  4. Improve the Diversity Factor
  5. Decreases plant reserve capacity
  6. Improves reliability of supply

The disadvantages of the interconnected grid system are:

  1. Fault on one system gets transferred to the other portion of the system
  2. High switchgear price
  3. Proper load management is needed
