  • Sony India Software Centre (SISC) is the Technology and IT Solutions provider for Sony Worldwide.
  • It provides solutions in Embedded OS, Middleware, Multimedia, and Digital Signal Processing.
  • Established in 1994.
  • Main office in New Delhi, branches throughout India. Bangalore is one of their branches.

Eligibility criteria

  • Eligible Branches: CSE,E&C.
  • Eligibility Criteria: 10th: 65% & above, 12th/Diploma: 65% & above, BE: CGPA of 7.25 & above with NO current backlogs.
  • Salary offered: 6.25 LPA (Including 25,000 bonus).
  • Online Test: 17th October.
  • Online test results and interviews: 21st October.

Recruitment Process

  • Online Test.
  • Technical Interview(s).
  • HR Interview.

Online Test

Total 50 questions in 65 minutes.

3 sections:

1.Quantitative and analytical aptitude ( 15 questions)

2.Verbal Section (15 questions)

3.Technical Section (20 questions)

Quantitative and analytical:

  1. Reasoning questions
  2. Probability
  3. Venn diagram
  4. Topic syllogism
  5. Time and work

The verbal section includes paragraph questions that were quite lengthy and questions on the topics like error correction and some on basic grammar.

Technical section of online test

We were supposed to choose 1 among the following categories:

  1. C programming

2. C++ programming and Networking Concepts

3. C++ programming, OS, and Data Structure(I had opted for this category)

4. Core Java

5. Oracle/PLSQL

C++, OS, and DS questions were moderate level. DS questions were mostly from the linked lists, backtracking, and trees. OS questions consisted of problems with scheduling algorithms.

Technical Interview

01. Tell me about yourself.

02. In a detailed explanation about the projects which are on your resume.

03. Asked me in which subject and programming language I was good at and based on that questions were asked.

04. How will u find the minimum distance between the nodes other than Dijkstra’s.

05. Explain DFS and BFS with examples.

06. What is an abstract class.

07. Acid properties (in specific about atomicity and isolation).

08. Dining philosopher.

09. Where do you see yourself after 5 years?

10. Why Sony.

11. Any questions.

HR round

01. Asked about family background.

02. Asked me where you find information about new technologies(along with blog and author name).

03. Do you have any job offer, if yes then which company and why you want to join Sony(don’t tell negative things about any company).

04. What are the things you liked in the pre-placement talk.

Suggestions

  1. Refer R.S.Agarwal.
  2. Questions on www.indiabix.com are the same as in the R.S.Agarwal book.
  3. For DBMS, C, C++, and Data Structures refer GeeksforGeeks.
  4. Be confident while answering.
  5. Listen to pre-placement talk carefully.
